NGC 6569: Globular Star Cluster (Sagittarius) RA: 18h 13.6m / DEC: -31° 49'.6
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

NGC 6569 is a delicate globular star cluster positioned within the spout of Sagittarius' teapot asterism. 3.0 magnitude Nash, Gamma Sagittarii, is 2.2 degrees to the northwest and 2.7 magnitude Delta Sagittarii shines 2.5 degrees to the northeast. Archinal lists NGC 6569 as an 8.4 magnitude object. My sketch presents the view at 190X in the 10-inch Newtonian and shows a 3'.5 diameter diffuse glow that gradually brightens toward the center, the western portion seeming a tad brighter than the remainder. No members are of this cluster are resolved in the 10-inch, however the object is nicely framed by a collection of four 11th to 12th magnitude stars forming a bowl asterism. Another 20 stars complete the portrait.
