A good astrophoto captures the imagination like little else. The Orion nebula's crimson wings spread across the sky like flames. A comet poses gracefully above the tree line at dusk. Jupiter's colorful atmosphere seems a churning river of pastels. These are the images that inspire us to gaze upon the sky with a telescope.
