NGC 6235: Globular Star Cluster (Ophiuchus) RA: 16h 53.4m / DEC: -22° 10'.6
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

Ophiuchus is brimming with fine globular star clusters. This little gem can be found about 4.5 degrees north-northwest of M19. Another approach would be to search 1.8 degrees due south of 5.9 magnitude HD 152311. Either approach will bring you to NGC 6235. My drawing is based on a 129X view (8.8-mm UWA) in my 10-inch Newtonian. The globular appears 5' in diameter and becomes noticeably brighter within the central 2' core. The brightest of the 26 field stars in my sketch is a 9th magnitude GSC star about 11' to the southeast.
