NGC 4346 is presented in the sketch at left, which renders an 82X view in my 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian. The galaxy is centered. A stellar core region is embedded within a wafer thin 4'x1' nebulosity. The 11.3 magnitude galaxy presents a classic lenticular profile: It is thickest at the core with a gradually tapering disk terminating at razor sharp tips. 6.3 magnitude HD 107610 shines 19' to the northwest just inside the field boundary. Another 11 stars dot the field. While in the area, don't miss the impressive Messier galaxy, M106, about 49' to the west-northwest.
