This fine spiral galaxy resides in eastern Leo in a region bounded by 2.1 magnitude Denebola and 4.0 magnitude Iota (78) Leonis. NGC 3810 is a 10.6 magnitude Sc-type galaxy, according to RC3. This classification suggests a loose spiral structure with a poorly organized core region. Its appearance in the 10-inch bears this out. The sketch at left, made at 82X, shows a 4'x3' oval with a noticeable brighter central region spanning some 120"x90". There is no apparent stellaring at the core. Of the 16 field stars shown, the brightest is 8.9 magnitude HD 101441 along the southern boundary.
