This last photo was taken about fifteen minutes after midnight. The display had diminished quite substantially to the naked eye. However, this one-minute exposure records deep reds and a green-blue band along the horizon. I was really surprised to see such rich color in this exposure. Notice the range of color density toward the top of the frame. This spectacular display is one I won't soon forget.
