NGC 936: Spiral Galaxy (Cetus) RA: 02h 27.6m / DEC: -01° 09'.3 Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder |
NGC 936 is a 10.1 magnitude spiral galaxy. You'll find it between 75 Ceti and 70 Ceti, a pair of 5.4 magnitude stars separated by 2.5 degrees in right ascension. My sketch records an 82X view in the 10-inch Meade Starfinder. NGC 936 ranges over a 4'.5x3'.0 area and features a stellar core region. A 13th magnitude GSC star marks the western edge of the galaxy. 7.1 magnitude HD 15275 shines just inside the northern edge of the field. Another 18 field stars complete the view. |
