NGC 779 is an edge-on galaxy in Cetus. It's located about 6 degrees south of 5.4 magnitude 60 Ceti. Another 5.4 magnitude star, HD 12292, hangs south of NGC 779 by about 2.5 degrees. The Sb-type galaxy is oriented northwest-southeast in my sketch, which presents a 126X view in the 10-inch Starfinder equatorial Newtonian. NGC 779 covers a 4'x1' area with some broadening at the core and just a hint of a dust lane.
