NGC 772 is a 10.3 magnitude Sb-type galaxy in Aries. You'll find it about 2 degrees southeast of 2.6 magnitude Sharatan, Beta (6) Arietis. My sketch was made with the 10-inch Newtonian at 129X. It shows an elongated 6'x3' oval patch. NGC 772 brightens near the core and displays a single spiral arm extending to the west-southwest. NGC 770, a 13.9 magnitude (photographic) elliptical galaxy, is seen 3'.6 south of NGC 772.
