This 11.6 magnitude SA-type galaxy is stationed near the southwest corner of the Great Square asterism in Pegasus. Begin you star hop at 2.5 magnitude Markab and slew northwest about 1.4 degrees. NGC 7448 should be centered in the field of view. The galaxy is just south of centered in my sketch, displayed at left, which renders a 129X view in my 10-inch, f/4.5 Newtonian reflector. The galaxy is wedged between a pair of bright stars, a 10th magnitude sparkler 4' to the west and a star of similar brightness 3' to the east-southeast. NGC 7448 is oval in shape, covers a 2'.4x1'.1 area and aligned roughly north-south. Sixteen field stars, in addition to those already mentioned, dot the field.
