NGC 6664: Open Star Cluster (Scutum) RA: 18h 36.7m / DEC: -08° 13'.0 Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder |
This little cluster is conveniently placed near a bright star. 3.9 magnitude Alpha Scuti is 22' to the west near the field boundary in the sketch at left. This drawing records the view in my 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian at 82X. NGC 6664 is the noticeably denser concentration of stars just east of center. Twenty-four cluster members are shown within a 16' diameter region. The stars range from 10th to 13th magnitude in brightness. Another twelve field stars complete the drawing. |
