The sketch at left presents NGC 663 as observed with my 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian at 63X. The star cluster is centered in the drawing. The dominant feature is two bright double star pairs. Both are composed of 8th magnitude stars separated by 1'.5. Sixteen cluster members are resolved under direct scrutiny. With averted vision, a host of faint 13th and 14th magnitude stars are suspected. Eighteen field stars provide context. Look for NGC 663 1.7 degrees northeast of 2.7 magnitude Ruchbah, Delta (37) Cassiopeia.
