The teapot in Sagittarius is among the most-recognized asterisms in the starry firmament. The immediately recognizable stellar pattern implores astronomers to stop and explore the richest collection of deep-sky treasures in the summer sky. Although NGC 6624 will never make a "best of" list of the gems in Sagittarius, this 7th magnitude globular star cluster is a fine sight in moderate aperture. I found it in the teapot's spout, 45' southeast of 2nd magnitude Delta Sagittarii. My drawing presents a 190X view in the 10-inch, f/4.5 Newtonian. NGC 6624 appears as a 4' diameter nebulous haze surrounding a brighter 2' diameter core region. Eleven field stars provide context.
