NGC 6293: Globular Star Cluster (Ophiuchus) RA: 17h 10.2m / DEC: -26° 34'.9
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

Another summer globular cluster. NGC 6293 resides in M19's neighborhood, 1.7 degrees east of its larger, more impressive sibling. The sketch at left presents a 129X view in the Starfinder 10-inch Newtonian. The cluster shows a 5' diameter with brightening toward the center and a nearly stellar core. Interestingly, MegaStar plots a 6.7 magnitude GSC star right at the core. Either it's variable and I observed it at minimum, or it's another GSC error. I've added 25 field stars ranging from 9th to 11th magnitude for good measure.
