NGC 6284 may not be the most spectacular example of a globular star cluster however, it is definitely worth the effort to find. My sketch captures the view at 129X in the 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian. The cluster is 3' in size with discernible brightening toward the core. Twenty-eight field stars ranging from 9th to 12th magnitude are recorded. You'll find NGC 6284 about 1.5-degrees north of M19.
