NGC 5676: Spiral Galaxy (Bootes) RA: 14h 32.8m / DEC: +49° 27'.5
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

This little galaxy is stashed away in northwestern Bootes. The sketch at left presents a 129X view in my 10-inch Newtonian. NGC 5676 is centered, a 4'x1'.5 nebulous glow aligned rouhly northeast to southwest. NGC 5676 displays a subtle S-curvature, with the southwest arm angling west and the northeast arm turning east. This spiral galaxy features a noticably brighter and somewhat elongated core region. 8.5 magnitude HD 127824 shines some 12' to the northwest. It and ten more stars frame the view. 8.0 magnitude HD 127930 lies just outside the field of view, 17' to the south.
