Herschel 400 Objects

NGC 5273: Galaxy (Canes Venatici) RA: 13h 42.1m / DEC: +35° 39'.2
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

NGC 5273 is presented in the sketch at left. This 11.5 magnitude SO-type galaxy resides in eastern Canes Venatici. The nearest bright star is 6.0 magnitude HD 119458, visible right along the southern edge of field about 40' south of the galaxy. The drawing renders the view in my 10-inch at 63X and shows NGC 5273 as a 90" diameter glow just inside the northwest field boundary. The galaxy is framed by 11 field stars.
