NGC/IC Objects

NGC 4845: Spiral Galaxy (Virgo) RA: 12h 58.0m / DEC: +01° 34'.5
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

NGC 4845 is conveniently placed 12'.5 northeast of 6.9 magnitude HD 112542 in Virgo. The sketch at left renders the view in my 10-inch Newtonian at 82X. NGC 4845 shows a 3'x1', east-west aligned profile sandwiched between two 11th and 13th magnitude GSC stars. The galaxy glows faintly at 11.2 magnitude. 3.4 magnitude Auva, Delta (43) Virginis, is about 2 degrees to the north-northwest.
