NGC 4781: Peculiar Galaxy (Virgo) RA: 12h 54.4m / DEC: -10° 32'.2
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder

This peculiar galaxy can be found 1 degree due south of 4.8 magnitude Psi (40) Virginis. My sketch was made at 82X with the 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian. The galaxy as a 2'x1' oval nebulosity. A string of 9th through 13th magnitude GSC stars snake their way from the south, up and around NGC 4781. 8.5 magnitude HD 112188 is visible 9' to the northeast. The bright star at the western edge of the field is listed at 9th magnitude in the Hubble Guide Star Catalog (GSC). Several NGC galaxies, including 4760 and 4790, escaped detection. I'll have to revisit this field.
