This is another of the numerous galaxies in Virgo. My sketch captures NGC 4636's appearance in the 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian at 82X. This elliptical galaxy presents a 3'x2' profile with noticeable brightening at the core and an 11.3 magnitude star just beyond the northern extent. This star, along with a 9th magnitude star to the south and 8.4 magnitude HD 110630 to the west, form a triangle asterism. While in the area, look for NGC 4665 about 41' to the northeast. NGC 4643 resides 43' to the south.
