NGC 4546 is a 10.3 magnitude galaxy in southern Virgo, about 3 degrees southwest of 2.7 magnitude Porrima, Gamma (29) Virginis. Observing at 82X with the 10-inch Newtonian, NGC 4546 presents a 60" diameter profile with noticeable brightening at the core. A 12th magnitude GSC star is visible 2 arc minutes to the southeast. The bright stellar pair just inside the western boundary of my sketch includes 8.6 magnitude HD 109376.
