Berenices' Hair is home to a host of fine galaxies. Spirals, ellipticals and everything in between can be observed. This 10.1 magnitude spiral is located in southern Coma just east of M85 and M100. NGC 4450 is located 2 degrees southeast of 4.7 magnitude 11 Comae Berenices. My sketch renders the appearance at 82X in the 10-inch. The 10.1 magnitude Sb-type spiral presents as a 2' diameter nebulosity with an intensely bright--as these things go--core region. An 8th magnitude GSC star is visible a few arc minutes to the southwest. Magnitude 7.7 HD 108714 sits just inside the northeastern border, 18' from NGC 4450.
