This little galaxy is located just north of the bowl asterism. 3.3 magnitude Megrez blazes away about 4.5 degrees to the southeast. NGC 3945 covers a 2' diameter area at 82X in the 10-inch Starfinder. There is discernible stellaring at the core. A 12th magnitude GSC star is positioned 2' south of the core. A close pair of identical 10.0 magnitude stars is visible just inside the eastern boundary of the eyepiece field.
