This little gem is tucked away in northeastern Leo just across the border from Coma Berenices and Ursa Major. My 10-inch Newtonian produces a scene much like that recorded in the sketch at left. The drawing renders the view at 82X. NGC 3912, a borderline spiral/irregular galaxy, appears elongated north-south across a 3'x1' area. A 14th magnitude GSC star rests near the galaxy's southern tip. Sixteen field stars provide context. NGC 3900 is located just 35' to the north.
