NGC 3726 is presented in the sketch at left, which records the view in my 10-inch Newtonian. This delicate Sc-type spiral is thinly spread across a 5'x3' area. The galaxy is bounded at the north and south by 12th magnitude GSC stars. NGC 3726's loose spiral structure is suggested by the nearly transparent quality of its disk. You'll find this star city about one-third the distance from Chi to Psi Ursae Majoris in the Great Bear.
