This 11.6 magnitude spiral galaxy resides in the hindquarters of the lion, 39' east-northeast of 5.6 magnitude 81 Leonis. 3.3 magnitude Chort provides a convenient star hop origination point, 2.4 degrees to the southwest. My sketch captures the view at 129X in the 10-inch Starfinder Newtonian. NGC 3655 is an Sa-type, covering a 90"x60" area along a northeast-to-southwest axis. A 13th magnitude GSC star stands 2'.5 to the east. The brightest star in the field, 10' to the southeast, simmers at 10.0 magnitude. Another six stars complete the framework around NGC 3655.
