This 11.0 magnitude spiral galaxy resides in the haunches of Leo, about 3.2 degrees north-northeast of 3.3 magnitude Chort, Theta (70) Leonis. Its appearance at 129X in my 10-inch Newtonian is recorded at left. NGC 3626 covers a 3'x2' area and is elongated along a northwest-to-southeast axis. The galactic disk surrounds a bright stellar core. Several field stars are rendered, the brightest weighing in at about 9th magnitude. The fine galaxy pair, NGC 3607 and NGC 3608, lies just beyond the eyepiece field 47' to the west-southwest.
