To find NGC 2335, slew about 2 degrees southeast of the bright Messier cluster, M50. The sketch at left captures the view in my 10-inch, f/4.5 Starfinder at 129X. NGC 2335 is centered, a fine diamond-shaped asterism marking the spot. The asterism's four 9th through 11th magnitude sparklers are arranged near the center the cluster. NGC 2335 covers a 12' diameter area, but most of the visible members--some 25 in all--are scattered within 6' of the diamond asterism to the west and north. 7.0 magnitude HD 54141 shines about 8' to the east of the diamond, just beyond NGC 2335. The bright pairing stationed near the southwest field boundary includes 8.1 magnitude HD 53824 and 7.9 magnitude HD 53907. A 5' gap separates them. Another 40 or so stars dot the field around NGC 2335.
