NGC 225 is presented in the sketch at left, which captures a 129X view in my 10-inch Meade Newtonian. This 7.0 magnitude cluster is located near Gamma Cassiopeiae, about 2 degrees to the northwest. Alternately, 4.2 magnitude Kappa Cassiopeiae shines 1.7 degrees to the northwest of NGC 225. This 12' diameter cluster is centered in my drawing. Sixteen member stars are shown. The brightest form an interesting Y-asterism through the heart of the cluster. Three 9th and 10th magnitude stars stand guard immediately east of NGC 225. Twenty-seven additional stars provide framework. NGC 129 can be found 2.3 degrees southwest.
