There is nothing controversial about this little cluster. NGC 2215 is pictured in the drawing at left, which presents a 129X view in my 10-inch Newtonian. The 8.4 magnitude cluster is centered. Lynga lists 40 members. Twenty-five are shown in my drawing. The centerpiece is a four-star asterism, shaped like a traditional kite, of 11th magnitude stars. 5.3 magnitude 7 Monocerotis lies outside the field 36' to the southwest.
