M36: Open Star Cluster (Auriga) RA: 05h 36.3m / DEC: +34° 08'.4 Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder |
M36 is a 6.0 magnitude open star cluster located about 6 degrees north-northeast of Al Nath, Beta Tauri. The cluster appears fairly nondescript in my 10-inch at 63X, showing about 30 stars across a 10' field. A trio of 9th magnitude stars reside at the center. These are surrounded by a collection of 10th to 12th magnitude stars. |
