|NGC 6583: Open Star Cluster (Sagittarius) RA: 18h 15.8m / DEC: -22° 08'.0|
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder
NGC 6583 is an open star cluster in Sagittarius, about 1 degree southeast of larger, brighter NGC 6568. My sketch shows a 2' diameter nebulous patch closely guarded by five 12th and 13th magnitude GSC stars to the south. The bright star to the west, one of three in a triangular arrangement, is 11th magnitude. No members of the star cluster are resolved.
