|NGC 6369: Planetary Nebula (Ophiuchus) RA: 17h 29.3m / DEC: -23° 45'.6|

NGC 6369 is conveniently positioned near two bright stars. 4.8 magnitude 51 Ophiuchi lies just one-half degree to the east-southeast and 4.2 magnitude 44 Ophiuchi is located 48' to the west-southwest. NGC 6369 can be swept up at moderate power between the two stars, both being visible to the unaided eye under typical rural skies. The sketch at left shows the 12.9 magnitude (photographic) planetary nebula as a 120" diameter nebulosity with a 13th magnitude GSC star immediately to the east. 9.6 magnitude HD 158233 is shown 6' southwest of NGC 6369.
