|NGC 4251: Galaxy (Coma Berenices) RA: 12h 18.1m / DEC: +28° 10'.5|
Instrument: 10-inch Starfinder
NGC 4251 can be found about 2 degrees due west of 4.4 magnitude Gamma (15) Comae Berenices. This is a fairly bright galaxy, tipping the scales at 10.7 magnitude. The SO-type star city presents a 2'x1' profile in my 10-inch at 82X. It also features a bright stellar core. The faint star positioned 2' to the east is GSC 1991:541. Three equally faint GSC stars are aligned east-west north of NGC 4251. The bright star at the eastern field boundary is 6.4 magnitude 9 Comae Berenices.
