Meteor Through Cassiopeia

This meteor wasn't as bright as the others but still shows an impressive range of colors. At the height of the meteor storm, we were able to count 60 meteors in 30-seconds. That works out to a rate of 7,200 meteors per hour. Of course, this was just a short burst in the level of activity. Between 3:00am and 4:00am, the rate rarely dropped below one meteor every three seconds. The sustained rate was then about 1,200 meteors per hour. The peak burst of 7,200 meteors per hour occurred during a 15-minute stretch when the sustained rate was closer to 2,000 meteors per hour. What a show!
