Fireball Through the Big Dipper

The above photo was taken during the Leonid meteor storm of November 18, 2001. It records one of the many bright meteors which were on display. This fireball shot through the Big Dipper, which was standing on its handle along the northern horizon. The range of colors is impressive. The brightest portion near the head is white, with yellow, orange and green appearing along the train.
